Movie Synopsis

World Cupp 2011 is a film which exposes the unholy nexus between the underworld and the cricketers. Debutant Ravi Kapoor essays Indian cricket team captain Ravi Indulkar, who tanks a match with the help of his 4 teams mates against arch rivals Pakistan in 2007 World Cup However he is exposed by reporter Balakrishanan and all the players are banned for 4 years. As a consequence Ravi’s life gets shattered, his girl friend Soha (Manisha Chatterjee) dumps him and he loses his dad as well. Cut to 2011, Ravi is given one more chance to prove his patriotism by coach played by Suresh Oberoi, But like any other drama the sting is always in the tail, Ravi is again approached by bookie Shobhan (Zakir Hussain) to repeat the same performance once again but this time, he turns the offer down. An angry Shobhan then kidnaps Soha who incidentally is the Indian cricket team's physiotherapist. Ravi then turns to Home Minister who appoints an encounter specialist (Ehsan Khan) to rescue Soha at the risk of his life. In the midst of this personal trauma Ravi is also struggling to win the World Cup 2011 trophy as well.
