Movie Synopsis
Anand Math was a 1952 Hindi patriotic-historical film directed by Hemen Gupta, based on, Anandamath, the famous Bengali novel, written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1882, which itself was based on the Sannyasi Rebellion in the late 1700s. The film starred Bharat Bhushan, Geeta Bali and Pradeep Kumar in the lead. Pradeep Kumar was making his debut in Hindi Cinema , as was, film’s music director, Hemant Kumar, who has also already been working in Bengali Cinema for a while, and shift to Mumbai, and started their career in Hindi Cinema, with the film, Hemant Kumar even took a staff position as a composer with S. Mukherjee's Filmistan Studios.
